Metal Injection Molding (MIM) is a combined technology of powder metallurgy and
plastics injection molding, and becomes a fast growing method to overcome
restrictions that conventional powder metallurgy, machining and die casting
face. MIM is an ideal manufacturing method to cost-effectively produce complex
and precision parts of large quantities.
MIM provides engineers with great freedom of designing geometrically complicated
parts. .
Since MIM offers solution of integrating multiple designs into a single complex
component, assembly parts and labor can be largely reduced while product strength
and reliability can be largely increased.
MIM Parts can be formed with multi-cavity injection mold.
MIM parts display densities of 95%~99.5%. Besides, MIM process can reach tolerance better than +/- 0.3% to
achieve net-shape parts barely requiring secondary machining.
MIM adopts powders with particle size smaller than 20μm, so as to express surface finish better than Ra5.
Almost all kinds of material that can be economically produced into fine powders
are applicable to MIM.
